Official guidance for completing the 2026 Vietnam eVisa application form, including document requirements and step-by-step instructions.
The Official eVisa Application Form
The Vietnam eVisa application form must be completed accurately. Errors or inconsistencies with passport data may lead to application delays, rejections, or boarding denials. Review the visa requirements prior to submitting an application.
This document provides a step-by-step guide to completing the official eVisa application for 2026.
Step 1: Access the Portal and Upload Documents
Applications must be submitted through the official National Web Portal on Immigration. Third-party services are not required.
- Upload a portrait photo (4x6cm, white background, no glasses).
- Upload a scan of the passport data page (clear, full page, no glare).
- File names should use standard characters (e.g., photo.jpg, passport.jpg) to ensure successful upload.
Step 2: Personal Information
Enter all personal information exactly as it appears on the machine-readable zone (MRZ) of the passport data page.
- Full Name: Must match the MRZ exactly.
- Date of Birth: Format must be DD/MM/YYYY.
- Current Nationality: Select the nationality corresponding to the passport used for the application.
- Religion: Specify your religion. If not applicable, enter 'None'.
Step 3: Passport Information
Provide accurate passport details:
- Passport Number: Enter without spaces.
- Type: Select 'Ordinary' for standard tourist or business passports.
- Date of Issue & Expiry: The passport must remain valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended date of entry.
Step 4: Trip Details
Provide intended travel details:
- Intended Length of Stay: Enter the duration of stay (up to 90 days).
- Intended Date of Entry: Entry is permitted on or after this date, but not before.
- Allowed to enter through checkpoint: Select from one of the 83 eligible entry ports.
- Exit through checkpoint: Select the anticipated departure port. Refer to visa policies for further details.
While it may be possible to use a different eligible checkpoint, it is strongly advised to enter via the selected port to prevent delays at immigration.
Step 5: Contact Information in Vietnam
Provide intended accommodation details in Vietnam:
- Intended temporary residential address: Provide the name and address of the primary accommodation. A prospective address is acceptable if unbooked.
- City/Province: Select the relevant administrative division (e.g., Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang).
Step 6: Review and Payment
Review all information prior to submission. The non-refundable eVisa fee is $25 for a single-entry visa and $50 for a multiple-entry visa. Payment must be made via the official integrated payment gateway.
