45-Day Visa Exemption

As of 2026, South Korean passport holders are eligible for a 45-day visa exemption when entering Vietnam for tourism, transit, or short-term business purposes.

To qualify for the visa-free entry, South Korean citizens must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Hold a valid South Korean passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining from the date of arrival.
  • Ensure the passport has at least 2 blank pages for immigration stamps.
  • Possess proof of a return flight or onward travel departing within the 45-day exemption period.
  • Have no active entry bans under Vietnamese immigration law.

Visa-free stays cannot be extended within Vietnam. Individuals wishing to stay beyond 45 days must apply for an eVisa before arrival or depart the country and re-enter.

Vietnam eVisa for South Korean Citizens

For stays exceeding 45 days, South Korean citizens must obtain an Electronic Visa (eVisa) prior to departure. The eVisa is valid for up to 90 days and allows entry through any of the 83 designated international checkpoints.

  • Single-Entry eVisa (Up to 90 days): $25 USD
  • Multiple-Entry eVisa (Up to 90 days): $50 USD

Applications must be submitted through the official National Web Portal on Immigration.

Direct Flights from South Korea to Vietnam

Airlines operate multiple direct routes between major South Korean airports and Vietnamese international entry ports:

  • Incheon (ICN) / Gimpo (GMP) to Hanoi (HAN): Direct flights available via Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, and VietJet Air.
  • Incheon (ICN) to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN): Direct flights operated by Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, and VietJet Air.
  • Incheon (ICN) to Da Nang (DAD): Frequent direct routes are available.
  • Busan (PUS) to Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh City / Da Nang: Direct services provided by Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, and select Korean carriers.
