Do Georgian Citizens Need a Visa for Vietnam?

Yes, Georgian citizens are required to obtain a visa to enter Vietnam. Since August 2023, Vietnam's electronic visa (eVisa) system is open to citizens of all countries, including Georgia. The eVisa serves as the standard travel authorization for Georgian passport holders.

Key eVisa Regulations (2026):

  • Validity: Up to 90 days.
  • Entries: Available in both single and multiple-entry options.
  • Purpose: Valid for tourism, business, visiting relatives, and transit.
  • Ports of Entry: Accepted at 83 designated entry ports, including major international airports, seaports, and land borders.

Vietnam eVisa Fees for Georgians

The official government fees for a Vietnam eVisa are fixed in US Dollars (USD). Below are the standard fees, with estimated conversions to Georgian Lari (GEL) based on recent exchange rates (approximately 1 USD = 2.70 GEL):

  • Single-entry eVisa (up to 90 days): $25 USD (approx. 67 GEL)
  • Multiple-entry eVisa (up to 90 days): $50 USD (approx. 135 GEL)

Note: Exchange rates are subject to variation. Financial institutions may also apply foreign transaction fees.

Document Requirements

To apply for a Vietnam eVisa, Georgian citizens must prepare the following digital documents:

  • Valid Passport: The Georgian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the planned arrival date in Vietnam, with a minimum of 2 blank pages.
  • Passport Data Page: A clear digital copy of the passport's bio-data page.
  • Portrait Photo: A recent passport-sized photograph (4x6cm), taken against a plain white or light-colored background, without glasses.
  • Payment Method: A valid credit or debit card for fee payment.
  • Email Address: An active email address to receive application updates and the approved eVisa.

Applications can be submitted directly via the official National Web Portal on Immigration, or through our eVisa processing portal.

Embassy of Vietnam in Georgia

Currently, there is no Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate located in Georgia.

For standard tourism or short-term business visits, the eVisa can be obtained entirely online. However, for specialized visas that cannot be processed electronically (such as long-term work or diplomatic visas), Georgian citizens must contact a Vietnamese diplomatic mission in a neighboring country, such as the Embassy of Vietnam in Turkey or the Russian Federation.

Flight Routes: Traveling from Tbilisi to Vietnam

There are no direct flights between Georgia and Vietnam. Georgian travelers must book flights with one or more layovers. Most flights depart from Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport (TBS).

Standard Transit Routes:

  • Via Istanbul (IST): Turkish Airlines operates flights from Tbilisi to Hanoi (HAN) or Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) via Istanbul.
  • Via Doha (DOH): Qatar Airways offers routes from Tbilisi to major Vietnamese cities with a connection in Doha.
