Everything Fijian citizens need to know about applying for a Vietnam eVisa, including embassy information, FJD fees, and connecting flights from Nadi to Vietnam.
1. Do Fijian Citizens Need a Visa for Vietnam?
Yes, as of 2026, Fijian citizens are required to have a valid visa to enter Vietnam for tourism or business. Fiji is not on Vietnam's visa exemption list.
Fijian passport holders are eligible for the Vietnam eVisa. This electronic visa allows travelers to obtain an entry permit without visiting an embassy. The eVisa permits a stay in Vietnam for up to 90 days with options for single or multiple entries. Applications can be submitted through the National Web Portal on Immigration or via our simplified application form.
2. Vietnam Embassy in Fiji
There is currently no Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate located in Fiji.
For standard tourist or business visits, the eVisa is processed entirely online. However, if you require specialized consular services (such as legalizing documents or dealing with diplomatic matters), you must contact the nearest diplomatic mission:

- Address: Level 21, Grand Plimmer Tower, 2-6 Gilmer Terrace, Wellington 6011, New Zealand
- Phone: (+64) 4 473 5910

- A scanned copy of your passport's bio-data page (in .jpg format).
- A recently taken digital passport-sized photo (no glasses, solid background).
- A credit or debit card for the visa fee.
Visa Fees (Estimates in Fijian Dollars):
- Single-entry eVisa (up to 90 days): $25 USD (approximately 55 FJD)
- Multiple-entry eVisa (up to 90 days): $50 USD (approximately 110 FJD)
Note: The exact FJD amount depends on the bank's exchange rate at the time of processing. The standard processing time is 3-5 working days. It is advised to apply at least a week before departure.
4. Flights from Fiji to Vietnam
Since there are no direct flights from Fiji to Vietnam, you will need to book a journey with at least one layover. The primary departure point is Nadi International Airport (NAN), and your most likely destinations in Vietnam will be Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) or Hanoi (HAN).
Popular Connecting Routes:
- Via Australia (Sydney/Melbourne): Fiji Airways frequently flies to major Australian hubs. From Sydney (SYD) or Melbourne (MEL), you can connect to Ho Chi Minh City using Vietnam Airlines or Jetstar.
- Via Singapore: You can fly from Nadi to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) with Fiji Airways or Singapore Airlines, and then take a short flight to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
- Via Hong Kong: Cathay Pacific offers routes connecting Nadi to Vietnam via Hong Kong (HKG).
Total travel time usually ranges from 15 to over 20 hours depending on layover lengths, so plan your transit visas accordingly if leaving the airport during a layover.
