Official rules and procedures for submitting Vietnam eVisa applications for families, minors, and infants.
Individual Application Requirement
When traveling to Vietnam, the primary requirement is that every individual holding a separate passport must have their own eVisa application.
This regulation applies to all travelers, including infants and minors. If an infant holds an individual passport, a separate eVisa application must be submitted in their name, subject to the standard government fee ($25 for single-entry or $50 for multiple-entry, valid for up to 90 days).
Minors Included on a Parent's Passport
Minors under the age of 14 who do not hold their own passport, and are registered within a parent's passport, do not require a separate application.
On the official eVisa application form via the National Web Portal on Immigration, applicants can utilize the section designated for accompanying minors under 14 years old. The minor's name, date of birth, and a compliant portrait photo must be provided within the parent's application.
If a minor possesses their own distinct passport booklet, they are ineligible for inclusion on the parent's application. A separate eVisa application must be filed.
Photo Requirements for Minors and Infants
Minors and infants must adhere to the standard eVisa photo specifications (4x6cm, white background).
- The subject must face the camera directly with eyes open.
- Accessories such as pacifiers, headwear, or toys are prohibited.
- For infants, photographs may be taken from above while the infant lies on a white background.
- Parents or guardians supporting the infant must not be visible in the photograph.
Processing Group Applications
The National Web Portal on Immigration processes eVisa applications individually. Families applying directly through the official portal must complete separate forms, upload documentation, and remit payment for each applicant holding an individual passport.
Travelers may choose to utilize commercial service providers that offer group application capabilities. These services often allow families to submit multiple applications and process a single consolidated payment.
