The Airport Fast Track service is an optional assistance program available at major Vietnamese airports. This guide outlines how the service operates and its typical costs.
What is the Airport Fast Track Service?
The Vietnam Airport Fast Track service is a priority assistance program intended to expedite the immigration clearance process. Upon booking this service, an authorized representative meets the passenger either at the arrival gate or prior to the passport control area.
The representative escorts the passenger through a dedicated priority lane, which reduces the average wait time for passport control compared to the standard immigration queues.
Fast Track services solely expedite the passport control procedure. They do not accelerate baggage handling. Passengers with checked luggage must still wait at the designated baggage carousel.
Types of Fast Track Services
Most authorized providers offer two primary tiers of service:
- Standard Fast Track: The representative meets the passenger at passport control, escorts them through the priority lane, and the passenger subsequently collects their own luggage.
- VIP Fast Track (Full Service): The representative meets the passenger at the arrival gate, escorts them through passport control, assists with luggage collection, and guides them to the transportation area.
Service Costs and Suitability
In 2026, standard Fast Track services typically cost between $25 to $40 USD per person, depending on the airport and the specific provider. VIP full services generally start at approximately $60 USD.
This service is commonly utilized when:
- Arriving at major entry ports such as Tan Son Nhat (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City or Noi Bai (HAN) in Hanoi during peak operational hours (typically 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM).
- Traveling with young children, elderly individuals, or passengers requiring mobility assistance.
- Managing a tightly scheduled connecting flight.
This service may be unnecessary if:
- Arriving at regional airports, such as Da Nang (DAD) or Phu Quoc (PQC), during off-peak hours when queues are typically minimal.
- Traveling with carry-on luggage only and lacking time constraints.
Booking Procedures
Fast Track services are not directly operated by the Vietnamese government. They are managed by private travel agencies and logistics companies authorized to operate within the airport premises.
Reservations are typically required 24 to 48 hours prior to arrival. Passengers must provide their flight details, arrival time, and a copy of their valid passport and eVisa. (Travelers without an eVisa must apply for an eVisa prior to booking).
