If you have misplaced your Vietnam eVisa or registration code, follow these official steps to retrieve your approval letter before travel.

Step 1: Check Your Email Folders

The primary method for recovering a lost Vietnam eVisa registration code is to search the email account used during the application. The Vietnam Immigration Department sends the registration code and application updates via an automated email.

Search your inbox, spam, junk, and promotions folders for keywords such as "Vietnam eVisa," "Registration Code," or emails originating from the official xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn or bocongan.gov.vn domains. If the initial email is located, it will contain the registration code required to access your visa approval.

Ensure you are checking the exact email address provided on your application form. Typos in the email address during application are a common cause of missing registration codes.

Step 2: Retrieving a Lost Registration Code via Official Support

If the registration code email cannot be found, applicants must contact the Vietnam Immigration Department directly. The official portal does not have an automated self-service recovery button for lost codes.

  1. Visit the National Web Portal on Immigration (evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn or dichvucong.bocongan.gov.vn).
  2. Navigate to the "Support" or "Contact" section to access the official e-Visa support form.
  3. Select the subject relating to "Don't remember registration code" or "Lost registration code".
  4. Provide the required personal details: Full Name, Passport Number, Nationality, Date of Birth, and the registered email address.
  5. Submit the request. The support team will verify your identity and email the registration code to you. Processing times for support requests vary.

Step 3: Downloading and Printing the eVisa Approval

Once the registration code is retrieved, proceed to the "Search" or "E-visa search" menu on the National Web Portal on Immigration. Enter the registration code, registered email address, and Date of Birth to view the application status.

From this page, you can download the eVisa approval letter as a PDF file.

Printing the eVisa approval letter is mandatory. Immigration officers at all 83 designated ports of entry, as well as airline staff, require a physical printed copy. Digital copies presented on mobile devices may result in denied boarding or entry.

Errors in the Application Email

If the original application was submitted with an incorrect email address, the automated system cannot deliver the registration code, and retrieving it via standard support forms may be difficult due to verification failures. In cases where travel dates are imminent and the code cannot be recovered, submitting a new application may be required. Note that duplicate applications require payment of the standard non-refundable fee ($25 for single-entry or $50 for multiple-entry, valid for up to 90 days).
