Vietnamese visa policy for Burmese citizens

As of 2026, Myanmar citizens holding ordinary passports are eligible to enter Vietnam without a visa for stays of up to 14 days under the ASEAN bilateral agreement.

If you plan to stay in Vietnam for more than 14 days or require multiple entries, you must apply for a Vietnam eVisa. The eVisa permits stays of up to 90 days and allows entry through any of the 83 designated entry ports across the country.

Before traveling, it is advised to review the comprehensive Vietnam entry requirements to ensure all necessary documentation is prepared, including a valid passport with sufficient blank pages and proof of onward travel.

Important: The 14-day visa exemption is granted upon arrival, provided your passport has at least six months of validity remaining from your entry date. For longer visits, please submit your Vietnam eVisa application at least 1-2 weeks prior to departure.

General Vietnam entry requirements for Burmese travelers:

  • Myanmar passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of arrival
  • For stays exceeding 14 days: An approved Vietnam eVisa is required
  • Proof of return or onward travel
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the stay
  • Confirmed accommodation details
