Polish citizens are visa-exempt for up to 45 days in Vietnam. For stays up to 90 days, an eVisa is required. Review official requirements and procedures.

1. Visa Exemption and Requirements

Polish citizens are exempt from requiring a visa to enter Vietnam for short visits. Under the current visa exemption policy, Polish passport holders may enter and stay in Vietnam for up to 45 days without a visa, provided their passport is valid for at least six months from the date of arrival.

For stays exceeding 45 days, or for individuals requiring multiple entries, a valid visa must be obtained prior to arrival. Polish citizens are eligible to apply for the Vietnam eVisa.

The eVisa permits a stay of up to 90 days (single or multiple entry) for purposes including tourism, business, or family visits. It is accepted at 83 entry ports across Vietnam, encompassing designated international airports, land border crossings, and seaports.

2. Application Requirements for eVisa

To apply for a Vietnam eVisa for stays beyond the 45-day exemption period, Polish citizens must provide the following:

  • Passport: A valid Polish passport with a minimum validity of six months beyond the intended date of arrival in Vietnam, containing at least two blank pages.
  • Passport scan: A clear digital copy of the passport's bio-data page.
  • Portrait photo: A recent passport-sized digital photograph (forward-facing, no glasses, solid background). Refer to the official photo requirements for exact specifications.
  • Payment method: A valid credit or debit card for the application fee.
  • Contact information: A valid email address to receive the application outcome.

Applications must be submitted through the official National Web Portal on Immigration.

3. Fees and Processing Time

The 45-day visa exemption is free of charge. For those applying for an eVisa, the processing fees are set by the Vietnam Immigration Department:

  • Single-entry eVisa (up to 90 days): $25 USD
  • Multiple-entry eVisa (up to 90 days): $50 USD

The standard processing time is 3 to 5 working days, excluding weekends and Vietnamese public holidays. Applicants are advised to submit their applications at least 1 to 2 weeks prior to their intended departure date to allow for potential administrative delays.

4. Travel Routes from Poland

There are currently no regular direct commercial passenger flights between Poland and Vietnam. Passengers traveling from Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) to destinations such as Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) or Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) must use connecting flights.

Common transit options include:

  • Qatar Airways (via Doha)
  • Emirates (via Dubai)
  • Turkish Airlines (via Istanbul)
  • Air France or Lufthansa (via Paris or Frankfurt)

Total travel time typically ranges from 17 to 18 hours, depending on layover duration. Seasonal charter flights may operate occasionally, but these are not part of regular scheduled services.

5. Embassy of Vietnam in Poland

For consular services requiring in-person attendance, such as document legalization or traditional visa applications, Polish citizens can contact the Embassy of Vietnam in Warsaw.
