Indian citizens must obtain an eVisa prior to entering Vietnam. This guide provides official requirements, processing times, and application procedures.

Visa Requirements for Indian Citizens

Indian passport holders are required to hold a valid visa to enter Vietnam. The most efficient method is the electronic visa (eVisa), which permits a stay of up to 90 days.

Indian citizens must secure an approved eVisa before traveling. Applications should be submitted via the National Web Portal on Immigration at least two weeks prior to the intended date of entry.

Visa Categories and Fees

The eVisa is available in two categories for Indian nationals:

eVisa (Single-Entry)$25 USD3-5 working days90 days
eVisa (Multiple-Entry)$50 USD3-5 working days90 days

Note: Fees must be paid in USD. Conversion from INR is handled by the payment provider at the prevailing exchange rate.

eVisa Application Requirements

Applicants must prepare the following documentation:

  • An Indian passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended date of entry, with a minimum of two blank pages.
  • A digital scan of the passport data page (JPEG/PNG format).
  • A recent passport-style photograph (4x6cm, white background, no glasses, JPEG format).
  • A valid email address for receiving notifications.
  • A credit or debit card for the visa fee payment.
  • A designated entry port (selected from 83 allowed entry ports, including international airports, land border crossings, and seaports).

Ensure the passport-style photograph meets the exact specifications. Photographs with non-white backgrounds or headwear (unless for religious purposes) may result in application rejection.

Application Procedure

The eVisa application process consists of the following steps:

  1. Access the official National Web Portal on Immigration.
  2. Complete the application form with details matching the Indian passport exactly.
  3. Upload the passport scan and photograph.
  4. Select the intended entry port from the 83 eligible checkpoints.
  5. Submit the non-refundable fee ($25 USD for single-entry or $50 USD for multiple-entry) via international card.
