Visa Requirements for Hungarian Citizens
Hungarian citizens are required to hold a valid visa to enter Vietnam. The electronic visa (eVisa) system is the official and most direct method for securing entry authorization.
The eVisa permits a stay of up to 90 days and allows for either single or multiple entries. The application process is entirely digital, removing the need for physical submission of documents at an embassy.
Hungarian passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended date of entry into Vietnam. Check the full visa requirements prior to applying.
eVisa Requirements and Official Fees
Applicants must prepare the following documentation for the eVisa application:
- A valid Hungarian passport with a minimum of 6 months validity from the arrival date.
- At least two blank passport pages for entry and exit stamps.
- A recent passport-style photograph (4x6 cm, white background, without glasses).
- A clear digital scan of the passport's biographical data page.
Official Visa Fees: The official government fees are standardized in US Dollars (USD).
- Single-entry eVisa: $25 USD
- Multiple-entry eVisa: $50 USD
Note: Your financial institution will convert the USD amount to Hungarian Forint (HUF) based on their current exchange rates.
The only authorized platform for application is the National Web Portal on Immigration. Processing typically requires 3 to 5 working days. Once approved, travelers can enter through any of the 83 designated entry ports.

There are currently no direct flights operating between Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) and major airports in Vietnam, such as Noi Bai (HAN) in Hanoi or Tan Son Nhat (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City.
Common one-stop transit routes include:
- Middle Eastern Hubs: Transit via Doha (DOH) with Qatar Airways or Dubai (DXB) with Emirates.
- European Hubs: Connections through Frankfurt (FRA) with Lufthansa or Istanbul (IST) with Turkish Airlines.
