Myanmar citizens are eligible for a 14-day visa-free entry to Vietnam. For longer stays, an online eVisa valid for up to 90 days is required.
1. 14-Day Visa Exemption for Myanmar Citizens
As members of ASEAN, Myanmar citizens are exempt from requiring a visa to enter Vietnam for stays of up to 14 days.
To qualify for this 14-day visa exemption, travelers must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a valid Myanmar passport with at least six months of validity remaining from the date of arrival.
- Have at least two blank pages in the passport for entry and exit stamps.
- Provide proof of onward travel (such as a return ticket or an onward ticket to a third country) exiting Vietnam within the 14-day limit, which may be requested by airline or immigration officials.
Travelers within this 14-day limit may arrive at any approved international airport, land border, or seaport and proceed directly to passport control.
2. Vietnam eVisa for Longer Stays (Up to 90 Days)
Myanmar citizens intending to stay in Vietnam for more than 14 days, or those who require multiple entries, must apply for a Vietnam eVisa prior to travel.
The eVisa permits a maximum stay of 90 days and offers both single and multiple-entry options. The official government fees are:
- Single-entry eVisa: $25 USD
- Multiple-entry eVisa: $50 USD
The standard processing time is 3 to 5 working days. Once approved, the eVisa allows entry through 83 designated ports.
The official National Web Portal on Immigration is the sole platform for submitting eVisa applications.
3. Flights from Myanmar to Vietnam
Direct flights between Yangon (RGN) and major Vietnamese hubs, including Hanoi (HAN) and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), are operated by airlines such as Myanmar Airways International (MAI).
Transit options are also available via regional hubs, such as Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang), operated by airlines including Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia, and Vietnam Airlines.

5. How to Apply for a Vietnam eVisa
The eVisa application process is fully digital. Applicants must:
- Prepare a digital scan of the passport's biographical data page and a recent passport-sized portrait photo taken without glasses. Refer to the eVisa photo requirements.
- Visit the official National Web Portal on Immigration.
- Complete the online application form with personal and entry details, and upload the required documents.
- Pay the processing fee ($25 USD or $50 USD) using a valid credit or debit card.
- Receive the approved eVisa document via email within 3 to 5 working days, which must be printed and presented upon arrival.
