90-Day Validity Guidelines
Following regulatory updates in late 2023, the Vietnam eVisa system is available to all nationalities with an extended maximum validity of up to 90 days. For applications submitted in 2026, travelers may request an eVisa valid for any duration up to the 90-day limit, and enter through any of the 83 designated international ports of entry.
Government Fees
The standard government fee for a Vietnam eVisa is determined exclusively by the number of entries, not the duration of the visa. The official fees are standardized as follows:
- Single Entry (up to 90 days): $25 USD
- Multiple Entry (up to 90 days): $50 USD
As the government fee remains constant regardless of the requested duration, applicants may apply for the maximum 90-day validity to accommodate potential travel schedule changes. Note that applying through a third-party agency for support and processing guarantees will incur additional service fees.
Visa Exemptions
Certain nationalities are permitted to enter Vietnam without a visa for specific durations. Travelers should verify their eligibility for a visa exemption prior to submitting an eVisa application:
- 45 Days Visa Exemption: United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Belarus.
- 30 Days Visa Exemption: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
- 21 Days Visa Exemption: Philippines.
- 14 Days Visa Exemption: Brunei and Myanmar.
Choosing the Appropriate Validity
Travelers who qualify for a visa exemption and intend to stay within the permitted time frame are not required to obtain an eVisa. For stays exceeding the exemption period, or for citizens of non-exempt nations, an eVisa is mandatory. Given that the government fee is identical for both 30-day and 90-day validity periods, applying for the 90-day visa provides greater flexibility in travel arrangements and mitigates the risk of visa overstays.
