A guide to the Vietnam eVisa government fees, accepted payment methods, and how to troubleshoot common payment gateway errors.

eVisa Fees

Paying the Vietnam eVisa fee is the final step in the application process. Your application will not enter the 'Processing' queue until the payment is successfully completed.

The Vietnam Immigration Department charges a non-refundable processing fee based on the visa type:

  • Single-entry eVisa (up to 90 days): $25 USD
  • Multiple-entry eVisa (up to 90 days): $50 USD

The payment gateway (Payoo or Napas) will add a small processing fee (usually less than $1 USD). The transaction will be charged in Vietnamese Dong (VND) based on the daily exchange rate.

Accepted Payment Methods

The official government portal accepts the following international payment methods:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • JCB
  • Amex (American Express)

Troubleshooting Payment Errors

The Vietnamese payment gateway is notoriously strict regarding international transactions, which can result in failed payments. If your payment fails, try the following:

  • Call your bank: Most payment failures happen because your bank flags the transaction to Vietnam as suspicious. Authorize the transaction to 'Vietnam Immigration' or 'Payoo,' and try again
  • Try a different card: If your Visa card fails, try a Mastercard, or try a card from a different bank
  • Do not try too many times rapidly: If you fail 3 or 4 times in a row, the gateway may temporarily block your IP. Wait a few hours before trying again
  • Use an Agency: If you absolutely cannot get your payment to go through, you can use a reputable visa agency. They can process the payment locally on your behalf
